1What exactly means "one-of-a-kind" products?
In short: what you see is exactly what you get. All the products in the shop are made one by one in my craft room. I made each paper used for the book covers and that means that they are really 100% unique: not a digital reproduction.
2Why are just a few products in the shop? Will you add new products to the shop?
Indigo Craft Room stands for slow design and sustainable production. This means that I am just offering limited editions of my handcrafted products. However, I am adding new products every once in a while and I will keep creating beautiful things for you! So stay tuned!
3Can I open the Japanese notebook like a regular notebook?
The pages from the Japanese notebooks aren’t bound to the covers by the spine. This means that you cannot open these books as you would with a regular notebook, which can lay flat. Still, you can write on both sides of the paper without problems.
4What means “acid-free” paper and why is it fountain pen friendly?
Acid-free paper ensures better preservation of the book for a long period. And it is also suitable for writing with a fountain pen since the paper won’t absorb as much ink as a non-acid-free paper would do.

CUSTOM ORDERS

1How can I submit a custom order?

Please send me an e-mail with your request: which product you would like to order, colour or size variations, quantity, personalization (e.g. your name on the first page…)

If you are ordering a notebook, you can also choose the Japanese stab binding pattern. I am all ears!

2Can you also make other products apart from the ones in the shop?
Yes and no. It depends on what you are looking for. However, I like challenges, so just send me an e-mail and we will find out if I can make it!
3How much it will my custom order cost?
Once we are clear on which kind of product you would like to order (including all design and colour variations), I can determine the final price. If you order one of the products listed on the shop, but with a few variations extra (e.g. colours of the paper or binding), the final price shouldn’t vary much from the standard prices.
4When will my custom order be delivered?
I can just determine the duration of the production after knowing which kind of product you would like to order. I will inform you about the estimated delivery time in advance.
5Can I return my custom order?
All custom orders are excluded from the return policy. I kindly ask for your understanding.

WORKSHOPS

1What's included in the workshop fee?
The workshop fee gives you access to an exclusive all-round workshop experience, including:
  • a dedicated and helpful teacher and a small group of participants
  • professional advice (also available after the workshop via e-mail)
  • high-quality materials
  • a bunch of bookbinding and marbling tools to experiment with
  • a beautiful designed step-by-step manual with all my tips & tricks, so you can keep creating at home
  • a surprise goodie-bag with a special discount for the Indigo Shop
  • a central event location, snacks, coffee/tea and water.
    • 2Can I use a coupon code for booking a workshop?
    Yes! If you have a gift card or a coupon code, you can use them for booking one of my creative workshops. Enter the code during checkout to grant your discount.
    3What's your cancellation policy for workshops?

    Please understand that I count with you for the workshops preparations. And I hope that nothing keeps you from joining us. However, if that is the case, please take the following deadlines into consideration:

  • By cancelling until 48 hours before the event you get 100% refund of your ticket (excl. 5€ administration fee)
  • By cancelling until 24 hours before the event you get 50% refund of your ticket (excl. 5€ administration fee)
  • *** If you cancel the same day of the workshop or don’t show up, unfortunately, I cannot make any refund

    • If you cannot attend the workshop, but want to give your ticket to another person, you are welcome to do so. Please send me an e-mail with the contact details of the person that will attend the workshop instead of you.

    In case that the workshop has to be cancelled from my side, you will get 100% reimbursement of your ticket.

    4In which language are the workshops?

    I am fluent in German, English and Spanish and would love to teach you the secrets of bookbinding and marbling in all these 3 languages! Take a look at my workshop calendar for the upcoming courses and workshops available in German, English and Spanish.

    If you book a private workshop, you can choose the language of the class.

    Furthermore, my bookbinding and marbling workshops are very practical, so even if you are not completely fluent in German, English or Spanish, you will be able to follow the course!

    5Do I need previous bookbinding or marbling experience to join a workshop?

    You need zero previous experience to join one of my bookbinding or marbling workshops. In fact, all the courses and workshops I am currently offering are for beginners.

    I will teach you the basic bookbinding and marbling techniques with all my tips & tricks and step-by-step.

    If you have already joined a bookbinding or marbling workshop, but you just want to refresh the technique you are also more than welcome!

    6Do I need special tools or supplies to attend one of your workshops?

    Not at all. My (offline) workshops are all-inclusive: so relax and enjoy! You will have access to all my bookbinding and marbling supplies during the workshops. After the workshop, you will have the option to purchase your own tools from my curated bookbinding and marbling shop with a special participant discount.

    If you join an online workshop, you will receive a list of basic tools and materials you will need at home to follow the class. Most of the bookbinding and marbling supplies can also be purchased previous to the workshop in the Indigo Shop.

    7There will be any catering service or snacks and drinks during the workshop?
    The workshop fee includes snacks, coffee, tea and water. You are welcome to bring your own bottle of water or coffee mug. Please take into consideration that depending on the venue changes may apply. In that case, you will be notified once you book a workshop via e-mail.
    8Do you give private lessons?
    Yes! We can arrange a private lesson on-site or online. Just send me an e-mail and I will get back to you with a tailor-made offer that matches your wishes.

    ORDER & PAYMENT

    1Why can’t I add more items of the same product to my shopping cart?
    Usually, I just make one item of each product (this is because of the handmade paper I use for the covers). In some cases, it is possible to order 2 or even 3 with the same paper design. If you cannot order more than one, it means that this is the only product in stock. Send me an e-mail if you would like to order more items of the same product, and I will get back to you with an alternative.
    2Is the discount code also valid for the shipping costs?
    All discount codes are just applicable to the product price.
    3Where can I activate my discount code?
    Once you have placed an order in my shop, you will be redirected to the shopping cart. There you will find a box where you can enter your discount code.
