Bookbinding Workshops

MAKE YOUR OWN BOOKS STEP-BY-STEP

Let me guide you through the magical world of bookbinding and share my best tips & tricks with you! We will spend a creative day cutting paper, binding covers and sewing books. That's right: sewing books!

Traditional Bookbinding Techniques

There are many different ways of binding a book. During my bookbinding workshops, I will teach you all kinds of techniques, from the easy-peasy saddle-stitch binding technique to the ancient Japanese stab binding technique. With a few tools and materials, you will learn how to create a geometrical book based on the Origami folding technique, or a multipurpose Accordion book.

Eco-friendly Bookbinding

Did you know that you just need a needle and some thread to bind a notebook? You can make your own diary or bullet journal with less than three bookbinding tools!

In my creative bookbinding workshops you can learn and experiment with ancient crafts and arts like the Japanese stab binding technique. With almost no or barely any use of bookbinding glue, the Japanese binding technique is an eco-friendly alternative for all your book projects, from little journals to wedding photo albums.

Learning by Doing

That's my methodology! We will get our hands dirty in the process and learn from our own mistakes. All my bookbinding workshops are very practical. After a short introduction into the basic bookbinding tools and materials, we will start creating step-by-step and answering all questions right away. After the workshop, you will have the option to contact me via e-mail for extra advice any time you need it!

On- and Offline Workshops

My bookbinding and paper studio is based in Munich, Germany. Most of my bookbinding workshops take place in Munich. However, every now and then I organize workshops in other German cities and also in The Netherlands.

Thanks to the Internet, you can also join one of my online bookbinding workshops from any corner of the earth! Feel free to contact me for a private online class.

Bookbinding Workshops in German, English and Spanish

We learn easier and faster when we learn in our mother-tongue, don't we? I am fluent in German, English and Spanish and can answer all your questions about bookbinding in these languages. So, don't hesitate to join one of my bookbinding workshops in your mother tongue!

Groups and Private Workshops

You deserve time and attention. Therefore all my bookbinding workshops are limited to small groups with up to 8 participants. This way we can answer all your questions about the different bookbinding techniques and you can work at your own pace.

If you prefer, you can also book a private bookbinding workshop: from 1-on-1 on-site bookbinding lessons to online courses, or tailor-made workshops for your family or company event. Contact me here for more information and offers.
