After two and a half years of living in Groningen (The Netherlands), my boyfriend and I decided to go back to Munich (Germany).
We knew that 2020 would probably be our last year in the Netherlands. We moved here back in January 2018, because we wanted to live abroad together. We didn’t think we would be back to our “home town” that fast, though. We dreamed about travelling around and maybe even live in Hawaii, Malta, or Portugal…
But the challenges 2020 have put in our way made us realise, that now more than ever we aim for more stability, security and “home feeling”.
Groningen has been an extraordinarily welcoming city for us, the place where I started my handmade business and from where I managed to build an amazing community of entrepreneurs and creative fellows, like you!
But something was missing…
We are looking forward to this new phase in our life and I would love to take you with me through this journey!

One of my very first handmade markets in Groningen.
Things are going really fast. We would love to have more time for preparations and saying friends goodbye, but the housing market speaks another language. On June 30th we will say the Nederlands tot ziens (goodbye) ?
Good news: the Craft Room will stay as it is. The shop will take a short “vacation” though, so I can adjust everything to the new situation. Mostly bureaucracy stuff ?, since I will be moving my company from the Netherlands to Germany, and other regulations apply there.
The shop will remain open until June 20th. After this date and until further notice the website will still be accessible, but it won’t be possible to place an order.
I hope to reactivate the shop at the end of July, but you know how bureaucracy works… anyhow, you will be the first to hear about it, of course!
OTHER FAQ’s
The shop will be deactivated from June 20th for a couple of weeks. If you want to place an order during this time, please send me an e-mail listing the products you would like to purchase and I will get back to you with an alternative procedure.
Sure! You can use your coupon code to order any product directly through my shop until June 20th. If your coupon code is still valid after this date and you want to order something but the shop is deactivated, please send me an e-mail listing the products you want to order and I will get back to you!
I am aiming to keep the shop as it is, meaning the same product offer, prices and shipping rates. However, each country has its own rules and regulations… I will do my best!
I really hope so! I would love to come to visit you and organize a few marbling or bookbinding workshops. As a matter of fact, I might be back in October for a special workshop week! But more about that later this summer ?
Living, as well as founding my handmade business in the Netherlands has been an amazing, life-enhancing experience. I want to thank you for being part of it and hope that you stay on the road next to me in this new adventure that I am about to start in Germany.
Your support got me where I am now and kept me motivated to continue working towards my goal, creating a slow-made, sustainable and one-woman-craft business.
Thank you!
Your crafty fellow,
Karen
