Prepare to travel across the time and learn the secrets of suminagashi, the traditional Japanese art of marbling. During this hands-on workshop, you will get to marble paper like the masters in ancient Asia. Using a traditional craft technique that originated in Japan in the 12th century, we will create minimalist designs on soft Japanese paper.
In a small and cozy group limited to 10 participants, we will get to chat with each other, exchange tips and impressions, and spend a creative evening. You can join us from your kitchen, living room, garden or balcony… This is the perfect creative activity to kick off the summer season!
Everything you need is paper, ink, and water! I have prepared a workshop kit including high-quality Sumi-e paper from Hahnemühle and high pigment ink. You can upgrade your workshop kit including some extra tools like a marbling tray or round brushes.
You can use the marbled papers created during the workshop for binding your own journal, photo album, or even for decorating your home!
